Welcome

I'm Eleni Staraki,

a Semanticist.

semantics
tense and aspect

I received my PhD from the University of Chicago in June 2013. The topic of my dissertation (titled "Greek Modality") was the syntax and semantics of Greek modal auxiliary verbs. My adviser was Anastasia Giannakidou.

Most of my research falls under the broader rubric of formal semantics, syntax and pragmatics. My focus is on the interaction and interpretation of tense and modality. Add to this my strong interest in gradience and how this is conveyed in natural language.
